Privacy Policy

What Snack Rig collects, why, and how to make us stop.

This policy explains how Snack Rig (“we,” “us”) handles information when you visit snackrig.com. We keep data collection to what the site actually needs to function and to understand which guides are useful.

1. Information you give us

If you email us or use a contact form, we receive whatever you send — typically your name, your email address, and the content of your message. We use it to answer you and to act on corrections. We do not add contact-form addresses to any marketing list, and Snack Rig does not operate a newsletter.

If you leave a comment, we receive the name, email address and comment text you submit, plus your IP address and browser user agent, which help with spam filtering.

2. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we and our service providers automatically collect technical information when you visit: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, time spent, and approximate location derived from IP (typically city or region level, not a precise address).

3. Cookies and similar technologies

Yes, this site uses cookies. They fall into three groups: essential cookies that make the site work, analytics cookies that tell us which pages are read, and affiliate tracking cookies set when you click a merchant link so that a qualifying purchase is credited to us. 4. Third-party services

  • Google Analytics — aggregate traffic measurement. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can block it entirely with Google’s browser opt-out add-on.
  • Amazon Services LLC Associates Program — when you click an Amazon link from this site, Amazon may set cookies to attribute a purchase to us. Anything you do on Amazon is governed by Amazon’s privacy notice, not ours. We never see your order details, payment information or address.
  • Hosting and content delivery — our host processes server logs, including IP addresses, for security and performance.
  • Google Fonts — typefaces are requested from Google’s font service, which receives the request’s IP address.

5. How we use information

To operate and secure the site, to answer your messages, to understand which guides people read so we know what to write next, to detect abuse and spam, to credit affiliate purchases correctly, and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

6. How long we keep it

Email correspondence is kept while it is useful for handling your enquiry and any follow-up, then deleted. Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow-up replies make sense, unless you ask us to remove them. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics configuration. Server logs rotate on our host’s schedule.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to or restrict how we process it, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on it.

California residents

Under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, you may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, request deletion, request correction, and opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. Exercising these rights will never result in discriminatory treatment.

EU, EEA and UK residents

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you hold rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Our lawful bases are consent (analytics and non-essential cookies), legitimate interests (site security, spam prevention, aggregate audience measurement) and legal obligation. You may lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@snackrig.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we aim to respond within 30 days.

8. Children

Snack Rig is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it.

9. Security and international transfers

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Our service providers may process data in the United States and elsewhere; where required, they rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

10. Links to other sites

This site links to retailers, manufacturers and other third parties. Once you follow a link you are on their site, under their privacy policy. We are not responsible for their practices.

11. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices or the services we use change. The revision date below always reflects the current version. Material changes will be flagged on the page.
